"Tourists should not travel alone to Jiuzhaigou, and travel agencies should stop organizing or leading tour groups to the spot. Tour groups already there should help tourists get out as soon as possible."

CHINA NATIONAL, TOURISM ADMINISTRATION issuing safety tips on Aug 9, warning that in coming days tourists should not travel to Jiuzhaigou, a scenic spot in Sichuan province, after a devastating earthquake.

"We urged the Japanese side to reflect on history, respect facts and stop its groundless accusation about China and deception of the international community."

WU QIAN, Defense Ministry spokesman, in a statement. China is strongly dissatisfied with, and firmly opposed to, the China-related contents in Japan's latest defense white paper.
