Illegal protests scatter across HK, disrupt traffic, daily life

Protesters blockaded major roads in Hong Kong and the Cross-Harbour Tunnel again on Saturday as waves of demonstrations, at times illegal, entered the ninth week in the financial hub.
Saturday's demonstrations were unlawful as police had denied approval to applications for marches in Tai Po and Wong Tai Sin districts on safety reasons.
Protesters have since ignored the police ban to take to the streets in Tai Po, and later descended into other areas across the territory to frustrate the police with the use of such "flashmob" tactics.
