Rumor: Novel coronavirus is more deadly than any other pathogen.

Fact:

The fatality rate of the novel coronavirus pneumonia is around 3 percent (total deaths divided by the number of confirmed cases), much lower than the mortality rate of other pathogens such as Ebola, which has a case fatality rate of up to 90 percent.

And don't forget influenza, which kills hundreds of thousands of people around the world every single year.
