Xi congratulates Biden on US election victory


President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message on Wednesday to Joe Biden on his election as president of the United States, highlighting the importance for China and the US to focus on cooperation, manage differences and work toward the healthy and stable development of bilateral ties.
Xi noted in the message that the sound and stable development of China-US relations not only fits into the fundamental interests of people from both countries but also meets the common aspiration of the international community.
He expressed hope that the two sides can develop a relationship featuring no conflict, no confrontation, mutual respect and win-win cooperation and jointly promote the noble cause of global peace and development with different countries and the international community.
Vice-President Wang Qishan also sent a message to Kamala Harris on Wednesday to congratulate her on her election as US vice-president.
