A hospital in Suzhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, has been shut down to trace close contacts and launch an epidemiological investigation after one of its door handles tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Suzhou Yongding Hospital, which is in the city's Wujiang district, found the positive sample on a door handle during a routine environmental check at its fever clinic.

Fourteen medical workers who touched the door handle have tested negative, according to the hospital's official WeChat account.

On the same day, a man in Zhenjiang in Jiangsu province, who is the father of an imported infected patient, tested positive for COVID-19.

The man has been transferred to the local designated hospital for COVID-19 for treatment.
