Shaanxi records two new coronavirus cases


Shaanxi province reported two positive novel coronavirus cases on Sunday, according to the provincial Health Commission.
The two patients – Yan, female, 62, and Jiang, male, 62 – are a couple and retired college teachers from Shanghai.
On Oct 9, they arrived at Zhangye, Gansu province, by flight CA1216 from Shanghai after a transfer at the airport of Shaanxi's capital city Xi'an.
Then they started their self-driving tour in Gansu province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
With the negative nucleic acid results provided by the Ejine Banner People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia on Wednesday, they departed from Jiayuguan, Gansu province, on Friday afternoon by flight MU2165 and arrived at Xi'an in the evening.
In fact, due to the unusual result of a test conducted on Friday morning in Jiayuguan, the couple was asked not to leave the city, but they still left without reporting.
On Saturday morning, they took a taxi to Xi'an the Eighth Hospital for a nucleic acid test and the result initially showed positive in the afternoon.
The reviewed results from the provincial and the city's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also showed positive.
The couple has been put under quarantine in the hospital for medial observation.
The Jiayuguan Airport is urgently looking for those who took flight MU2165 on Friday or was present in the airport from 9 am to 3 pm, according to a statement published by the airport on Sunday.
