New global center to support sustainable transport, says ministry
The Global Innovation and Knowledge Center for Sustainable Transport, which will be set up under the Ministry of Transport, will carry out research in strategy and policy to support the development of sustainable transport, the ministry said on Thursday.
It will provide policy service and technology support to promote international collaboration in transportation. It will also undertake communication, think tank consulting, international training, hold forums and exhibitions to promote global transport cooperation, said Liu Pengfei, spokesman for the ministry.

The establishment of the center is to deepen international cooperation, promote mutual benefit in transport sector, boost global sustainable transport development and accelerate the building of a strong power in transportation, Liu said.
