Jinan launches wildlife conservation awareness month
A launch ceremony for "wildlife conservation awareness month" was held at the East Gate of Jinan Zoo on Oct 31, with visitors able to see a fascinating variety of wild animal models and specimens.
During the curtain raiser, workers introduced common bird species in Shandong province, and provided explanations about the anatomy of giant pandas and other wildlife. Participants read pamphlets such as the Overview of Wildlife in Jinan to learn more.
Many visitors brought their children to participate, hoping to learn more about wildlife through this opportunity.
During an interactive quiz session, participants ranging from young children to the elderly took part.
People also visited the new home of the giant pandas Hua'ao and Yaji. Their new habitat features some bamboo-themed architecture, as well as facilities like pavilions and elevated walkways. It was clear the pandas are being taken good care of.
