China's manned space program exhibition comes to Shanghai

The crowd-drawing exhibition of China's manned space program that debuted in Beijing to great acclaim last year has come to Shanghai.

Formally known as "Chasing Dreams Across the Universe: Exhibition of China's Manned Space Program Achievements", the exhibition began its Shanghai stop at the Shanghai New International Expo Center on Friday. The exhibition, which is free to the public, will last for fifty days.

The exhibition reviews China's manned space journey, highlighting its self-confidence, resilience and pursuit of dreams.

Key exhibits include a life-size model of the Tianhe space station's core module, a 1:4 scale model of the space station and replicas of various rockets. Other items include space suits and the Shenzhou XIV return capsule. There are also prototypes of next-gen manned spacecraft and lunar landers.

Shanghai's contributions are exemplified by the Mengtian lab module model, showcasing flexible solar wings; Shenzhou XII's voice-processing equipment; Shenzhou VII's companion satellite; and the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology's contribution to the development of other space program components.
