A promotional conference for the seventh China International Import Expo in Hanoi, Vietnam on Jan 16 attracted over 100 enterprises and institutions from the country.

This event marked the first of its kind in Vietnam and the first stop of the CIIE global promotional campaign in 2024, said Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, at the event.

A six-time CIIE participant, Vietnam drew over 10,000 Chinese and international business representatives for discussions and negotiations at its pavilion at each edition. It was also the guest country of honor in the inaugural and sixth editions of the expo.

During the event, Wu Guoquan, the minister counselor of the Chinese embassy in Vietnam, said he hopes both China and Vietnam will continue deepening mutual economic and trade cooperation by leveraging the high-quality platform provided by the CIIE.

Le Hoang Tai, deputy director-general of the Trade Promotion Agency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, said that the agency will continue to mobilize Vietnamese businesses to participate in the seventh CIIE and support them in achieving better results.

According to Le, the agency has assisted Vietnamese enterprises in attending the CIIE for consecutive editions and facilitated the entry of Vietnamese agricultural products, seafood, processed foods, and other advantageous products into the Chinese market.

During this visit to Vietnam, the CIIE work team also met with local enterprises and organizations, including Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, and invited them to bring more products to the Chinese and international markets through the CIIE.
