A promotional conference for the seventh China International Import Expo was held in Bangkok, Thailand on Jan 19.

Marking the CIIE's first offline activity in Thailand, the event garnered the participation of representatives from over 200 enterprises and institutions.

Sun Chenghai, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that the CIIE, held for six consecutive years, exemplifies China's commitment to advancing high-level opening-up.

Sun said he hopes Thai exhibition organizers and enterprises will actively participate in the seventh CIIE and bring more new products, technologies, and services to China. Thai government officials, business people, and scholars are also welcome to attend the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, which is an important part of the CIIE, he added.

Yanyong Puangraj, advisor to Thailand's deputy prime minister, said that the CIIE is a crucial channel for promoting Thai goods and services in the Chinese market.

He believes that the expo will expand cooperation between enterprises and industries, unearth greater collaborative potential between China and Thailand, and facilitate a win-win situation for the two countries.

Narongsak Putthapornmongkol, president of the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (TCCC), said that the CIIE serves as a bridge for global economic and trade cooperation. He added that TCCC will mobilize more Thai enterprises to participate in the CIIE to facilitate exchanges and cooperation between Thai and Chinese businesses.

During the event, five Thai enterprises and organizations, including TCCC, signed agreements with the CIIE Bureau.

The CIIE work team also met with related exhibition organizers and enterprises during the visit to Thailand to search for feedback and suggestions for their participation in the sixth CIIE.
