Former Chinese Super League company chairman sentenced to 11 years for bribery

WUHAN -- Liu Jun, former chairman of the Chinese Super League company, operator of the country's top-tier professional football league, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for taking bribes.
The sentence was handed down by the People's Court of Tongshan County in Hubei province in Central China on Wednesday.
Liu was also fined 1.1 million yuan (about $153,822) while his illegal gains resulting from the bribery will be recovered and turned over to the state treasury.
