Interior walkway lifts safety, livelihood
Chinese railway operators have taken new measures to ensure the on-site safety of employees. China Railway Taiyuan Group has built an 11.3-kilometer long walkway inside one of its railway stations to ensure employee safety and keep trains running smoothly. Caofeidian North Station in Hebei province, as a multidirection hub, built the walkway between two tracks that see dense traffic, with the construction workers executing every measurement and placement with top precision. The station's managerial staff members also joined in the work in the cramped space between rails. The new walkway solved a problem plaguing the employees for years — no more dust-covered uniforms or mud-caked boots.
