The 2025 China Economic and Social Forum took place in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Thursday, drawing more than 80 participants from China and abroad for discussions on deepening civilizational exchanges and mutual learning to build a community with a shared future for humanity.

Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said in a keynote speech that China's Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative and Global Governance Initiative are important public goods that the country has provided to the international community in the new era.

Wang, who is also chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, emphasized the importance of respecting each country's independent choice of social system and development path, strengthening dialogue and exchanges among civilizations to drive shared prosperity, and promoting civilizational progress to advance the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

China will embrace the world with greater openness and contribute to global progress through its dynamic civilization, he said. The country will serve as a practitioner of friendly cooperation, a promoter of civilizational mutual learning and a builder of a community with a shared future for humanity, working with all nations to create a brighter future, he added.
