Immersive Peking Opera: 'The White Snake' VR exhibition opens in Beijing
"The vitality of culture lies in innovation, and its value is in communication,” professor He Wei, deputy director of the Digital Creative Media Research Center at Beijing Normal University, said.
The Peking Opera version of The White Snake was written by Tian Han, the first president of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, according to Chi Xuefeng, professor of the Stage Design Department and secretary of the Party Committee at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.
Representatives of the project implementation team—Wang Zitao, Liu Liaoruo, Hu Jinhui, and Wu Yibo—attended the event. Wang expressed the hope that visitors, drawn by their interest in the VR experience, would step into the exhibition, listen to the songs, and watch a Peking Opera performance.
