Opera gala to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival on Hebei Television

Wonderful Chinese Opera, a special TV program, will air on Hebei Television, the official TV platform in North China's Hebei province, on October 5, offering viewers a unique cultural feast for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, which falls on October 6 this year.
The gala will feature an impressive lineup of over 15 renowned performers, each a recipient of the prestigious China Theater Plum Blossom Award.
They will be joined by other celebrated artists, including Huangmei Opera star Wu Qiong, and some youth performers.
Together, they will present classic pieces from 12 major opera genres, including Peking Opera, Kunqu Opera, and Yu Opera, showcasing the diversity of China's traditional performing arts, according to Hebei Television.
In a creative segment, "Poetic Mid-Autumn", opera seamlessly blends with poetry. Five performers, each specializing in a different opera genre, will portray renowned poets such as Zhang Jiuling, Du Fu, Li Qingzhao, and Su Shi.
They will recite verses, which will be complemented by scenic footage of Hebei's landscapes, creating an immersive experience where poetry and opera harmoniously converge.
