Herbalife launches global product innovation center in Shanghai

Herbalife, a Los Angeles-based health and wellness company, unveiled its Global Product Innovation Center, an upgrade from the former Herbalife China product innovation center, in Shanghai's Zhangjiang Science City on Tuesday.
The upgraded center will not only continue to serve the Chinese market but also provide product development support across Asia and other global regions, marking a significant expansion of the company's global R&D capabilities, said the company.
"China has always been one of Herbalife's most important strategic markets globally," said Troy Hicks, chief operating officer of the company.
He said that five years ago, with the vision of "in China, for China", the company launched a product innovation center dedicated to serving the local market.
"After five years of dedicated work and development, the center has evolved into a regional R&D hub driving innovation across the Asia-Pacific and beyond. This upgrade will open a new chapter, driving global innovation from China," he said.
The company said that the strategic upgrade underscores Herbalife's recognition of China's vast market potential and its innovative capabilities. Also, Chinese consumers' high acceptance of innovative products and digital experiences provides the company with direct and keen market insights.
Aiming to fulfill the new vision of "in China, for the world", the upgraded facility will leverage China's rich cultural heritage and diverse culinary traditions to offer unique inspirations for product innovation, according to the company.
