McDonald's China to invest 400m yuan in talent development

In an effort to build a restaurant talent cultivation system for the digital era, McDonald's China announced it will invest more than 400 million yuan ($56.2 million) into talent training and development in the next three years.
The move, focused on making the fast-food chain's "Hamburger University" smarter, more open, and grow more holistically, was announced on Tuesday as McDonald's Hamburger University China celebrated its 15th anniversary. Each year, nearly 10,000 participants complete their training at Hamburger University.
Established in Shanghai in 2010 as McDonald's seventh Hamburger University worldwide, Hamburger University China combines global expertise with the needs of the China market, advancing curriculum modernization and digitalization, according to the company.
It teaches hard skills, such as the nine systems of restaurant operations, and also cultivates soft skills, such as leadership and people-first values.
