NEW YORK -- China hopes the European Union (EU) should uphold fair competition and WTO rules, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang here on Wednesday.
Li made the remarks in his meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of the general debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The Chinese premier called on the EU side to honor its commitment to keeping trade and investment markets open and avoid turning economic and trade issues into political or security issues.
