<b>China's 5G base stations hit 4.65m</b>
The number of 5G base stations in China reached nearly 4.65 million by the end of August, official data showed. The figure accounted for 36.3 percent of the total number of mobile base stations nationwide, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Meanwhile, an increasing number of Chinese mobile users are adopting 5G services. As of the end of August, the number of mobile phone users of the country's three major telecommunication enterprises and China Broadnet had reached about 1.82 billion, the data showed.
Track replacement to enhance safety
Chinese railway operators have intensified efforts to bolster transport safety. The Taiyuan-Zhongwei railway, a quick rail corridor carrying passengers and freight, serves as a lifeline for the people of Lyuliang area in Shanxi province for transport out of the mountains. To boost rail safety, China Railway Taiyuan Group has asked Taiyuan High-speed Railway Engineering Section to replace a part of its ballast-less tracks running for 1.6 kilometers. The section dispatched 15 master staff members to replace the tracks inside the Lyuliang Mountain Tunnel, and they completed the job in three days when the trains were not operating.
