A recent Shandong grain and oil promotion during Singapore-Shandong Week saw the regional public brand "Shandong pancake", led by the development and reform commission of Tai'an, making its first international appearance.

With tailored products and cultural storytelling, the initiative received positive feedback from local distributors, buyers, and consumers, laying a solid foundation for expanding into Singapore and other Southeast Asian markets.

At the themed promotion event, brand ambassador Shi Wenjie shared the story of Shandong pancake, from its traditional craftsmanship to modern innovation, highlighting its health benefits and customized versions designed for Singaporean tastes.

A tasting zone featured over 30 varieties from leading producers like Daliangyuan, Yuhuangding, and Tie'aozi, including whole grain, fruit-vegetable, herbal nutrition, and gift-style series.

"I never imagined pancakes could be so diverse and flavorful — this is authentic Chinese taste," remarked a Singaporean buyer.

Beyond exhibitions, Shandong enterprises visited local supermarkets, distributors, and Chinese restaurants to better understand consumer preferences and distribution channels.

"Singapore is a springboard into Southeast Asia. This trip helped us connect directly with partners and customers," said one company representative. A local chain store owner expressed strong interest, noting that Shandong pancake's health profile aligns well with Singaporean demand. She has already begun discussions on collaboration.

Launched in October 2024 as China's first provincial-level public brand for grain products, Shandong Pancake has rapidly built industrial standards and brand influence through creative campaigns. Its successful Singapore debut — meeting high food import standards — marks a key step toward global reach.
