Nantong Vocational University gathers professionals to discuss talent training

The Vocational Education Internationalization Collaborative Development Community Meeting and International Talent Development Seminar were held in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Sept 19.
Hosted by Nantong Vocational University and Vocational Education Internationalization Collaborative Development Community, the event brought together representatives from vocational schools, central enterprises, and international organizations. They discussed the internationalization of vocational education and outlined a talent development blueprint under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Qiang Yi, rotating chairman of the community and Party secretary of NTVU, shared the university's international achievements, including the founding of Jiangsu Namibia College (Zhenghe College). During the event, projects such as the China Civil Engineering Overseas Practice Center were announced.
The meeting included a special forum on sharing quality resources and exploring international industry-education collaboration for talent development, with six participating institutions sharing their experiences.
Xu Sheng, vice-president of NTVU, explained the university's efforts in working with companies. These efforts include matching talent programs with the overseas needs of civil construction and rail transit sectors, partnering with companies to create training programs, and setting up high-quality training centers. These actions give students practical experience, helping to develop professionals who meet international market requirements.
