New partnership to bring Dunhuang heritage into classrooms
A recently signed agreement between Beijing Normal University and Dunhuang Academy — the organization responsible for the research and preservation of the Mogao Caves in Gansu province — will help integrate museum resources into art education.
At the recent seventh China Education Innovation Expo, the two institutions launched the collaboration aimed at incorporating Dunhuang's achievements into the design of curricula and educational materials, not only for children but also for the general public through a range of art programs. The partnership will also promote exchanges and training opportunities for staff members.
Beijing Normal University has long been active in revitalizing traditional culture and the arts. It has previously worked with the Palace Museum to develop teaching materials featuring the museum's art, which are now used in primary and secondary schools.
