Anhui Conch Cement Co, China's biggest maker of the construction materials, quadrupled fourth-quarter profits.

Net income climbed to 637 million yuan from 156 million yuan a year earlier, as sales rose 28 percent, the company announced on Friday.

Construction spending in China rose 10 percent to $366 billion last year, compared to the 3 percent global average growth, according to Boston-based research firm Global Insight.
