China approves 1st coal-to-gas project in Xinjiang

China's National Development and Reform Commission approved the first coal-to-gas project planned for Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Shanghai Securities News reported today, citing an unidentified person familiar with the situation.

The project is being built by Inner Mongolia Qinghua Group, the Shanghai-based newspaper reported.
