Amazon.cn and Suning.com, two online B2C platforms in the mainland have pulled iPads, the popular Apple tablet computers, from their shelves and suspended its sales on Feb 14, said a report on hexun.com Wednesday.

Apple plunged into a legal dilemma after losing a court case to Proview Shenzhen, which claimed the rights to use the name "iPad" in the Chinese mainland, in December 2011, leaving iPad sales in the company's fastest-growing market up in the air, according to English.news.com.

With the acceleration of the heated dispute, over 20 industry and commerce government departments nationwide participated in the investigation and some took action to confisticate iPads on sale, the report said.

However, iPads is still in supply on other online platforms like Tmall.com and Dangdang.com, and on the Apple Online Store and its Beijing retail stores.

On the reason for pulling iPad off online shelves, staff members from Amazon.cn revealed that they received the requests from Apple Company but the company did not say that the action was in connection with the trademark dispute.

Ma Dongxiao, the attorney for Proview Shenzhen, said Proview did not ask the industry and commerce departments in Beijing to close down iPads's online sales and didn't know the reason why Apple Company asked the two online platforms to pull iPads off shelves.
