BEIJING - Chinese shares closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index losing 0.03 percent, or 0.73 point, to end at 2,275.34.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.49 percent, or 44.42 points, to 9,154.87.
