Top IMF official sees 10% growth for China

BEIJING -- Dominique Strauss-Kahn, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said Friday that although there was some impact from US subprime mortgage crisis on China, IMF still expected the Chinese economy to expand by 10 percent this year.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Dominique Strauss-Kahn Thursday afternoon in Beijing, and the two sides exchanged views on the Chinese economy and other issues of common concern.

This was the first time Strauss-Kahn visited China as managing director of the IMF.
