Qi Faren, a member of National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former chief designer of the manned spacecraft system for China's manned spacecraft project, said he would like China to attempt to land a man — or woman — on the moon.

Qi confirmed that three people will be sent to space in Spaceship Shenzhou IX and there are two women among the candidate astronauts in training.
