A court director in Dongyuan county, Guangdong province, died after throwing himself in front of a speeding train on July 7, Southern Metropolis Daily reported on Wednesday.

Zhong Junbin asked his driver to take him to a road next to the railway at around 10:50 am on July 7. He then told the driver to wait for him, and said he had something to do.

Half an hour later, police cars arrived at the scene, and officers told the driver that Zhong was hit by a train. Police have ruled out homicide, and the case remains under investigation.

Zhong became the court director in February.
