The Beijing International Art Biennale's committee has unveiled "Memory and Dream" as the theme for its sixth edition in 2015. The biennale welcomes artists worldwide to submit work created after 2010.

One of the fair's chief curators, Zuo Zhongyi, explains that "human civilization is carried on through memories and dreams, and artists become the most arduous dream-chasers by producing works that connect the past and future, reality and illusion".

The biennale has exhibited more than 3,000 works since its launch in 2003, and has attracted about 1 million viewers. It mainly displays paintings and sculptures, but has also encouraged installations, videos and new media.
