More children suffer 'adult' diseases

Diabetes, hypertension, neck and spine pains - the "adult" diseases - are being found more and more often found among children in Beijing, the Beijing Evening News reported yesterday.Among the 30,000 children treated by Union Hospital last year, 7 per cent of them were diagnosed with diabetes, the newspaper said. Aside from the hereditary factors, unbalanced diet, bad eating habits and insufficient exercise are causes of the disease, a health expert said.
