LONDON: A Singapore-flagged chemical tanker was hijacked in the Gulf of Aden on Friday, the European Union naval force (EU Navfor) said.
The 20,000 deadweight-ton M/V Pramoni was seized when it was heading to Kandla in India, the Northwood-based EU Navfor said in a statement. The ship has a crew of 24.
"The ship's master reported by radio that the ship was hijacked and all the crew are well," the EU Navfor said.
On Monday, Somali pirates seized a British tanker with 26 crew members ?and a Yemeni freighter with a crew of 15.
