Sleeping for 7 hours each night can help you stay healthy, according to new US research. For years, we have been told that 8 hours of sleep provides the best start to the day. But now experts have found that it is 7 hours that brings optimal health – and that more or less sleep may do us harm. A study of more than 30,000 adults found cardiovascular disease is twice as high among those sleeping less than 5 hours a day, compared with those getting 7 hours. Those who slept 9 hours or more also had a markedly increased risk.(See photo)

 

 

 

 

 

美國一項最新研究結果顯示,每晚睡7小時利于健康。多年以來,我們一直認為"每天睡足8小時,精力充沛一整天"。然而專家發現,7小時才是黃金睡眠時間,睡多睡少都會有損健康。專家通過對3萬名成年人進行調查發現,與每天睡足7小時的人相比,睡眠少于5小時的,心血管疾病發病率增加一倍。此外,睡9小時或以上的患病幾率也顯著增加。(見圖)
