China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) is a State-owned enterprise under the direct leadership of the central government. CNNC developed atomic and hydrogen weapons and nuclear-powered submarines, and built the first nuclear power plant in the Chinese mainland. It is the only company in China that owns an integrated nuclear industrial system, a luxury available in only a few countries in the world. CNNC is the main part of China’s nuclear science and technology advancement, the core of State nuclear deterrence and the major force of nuclear power development. It has shouldered responsibilities for national security and related economic growth.

CNNC is composed of more than 100 enterprises and institutions with a total staff of about 100,000.

Over the past 60 years, through constantly promoting independent innovation and core competitiveness, CNNC has made a major contribution to safe and efficient development of China's nuclear power and helped to realize the "China Dream" of harmonious development balancing human activity and a natural green environment.
