Chen Min'er, Party chief of Guizhou province, urged government officials to promote publicity work and cultivate professionals at a meeting in the provincial capital of Guiyang on Jun 14.
Prior to the meeting, Chen toured different journalism organizations to get first-hand information before the meeting. During a visit to the People’s Daily’s Guizhou branch, he said that he hoped the mainstream media could communicate the voice of Guizhou. He also spoke highly of the province’s journalistic cause and said the developing trend was very encouraging.
During the meeting, 11 representatives from state medias shared their opinions on developing publicity work.
Chen Danmei, the director of the Guizhou Opera Theater, talked about the province’s opera culture. Party chief Chen Min’er responded that government departments should cooperate to protect and promote local opera.
Chen also suggested that the cultural industry could combine with the tourist and big data industries for further development.
