The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF）regional cooperation seminar on sea oil spills opened in Qingdao on March 27. The seminar – hosted by China, the USA, Brunei, Singapore –saw nearly 70 officials and technical experts from 16 countries and international organizations attending.

This seminar exemplifies Sino-US cooperation in Asia, and aims to promote the ARF member countries’ cooperation in the field of marine oil spills to deal with the increasing risk of such spillage. . The multilateral exchanges and discussions on oil spill prevention, monitoring and early warning, emergency response, recovery and disposal, will improve information sharing of the latest achievements in oil spillages.
