The government of Pingyao county, Shanxi province, has called for the allocation of 10-million yuan ($ 1.6 million) for a fund for culture industry development.
It says there needs to be a principled, scientific allocation of funds, with preferably for high-quality projects and the proper preparation, and evaluation of possible programs, and follow-up tracking of the performance, in combination with the county culture office, fiscal affairs dept, and the publicity bureau.
The funds need to cover the entire county, mainly for the following: advantageous county projects, vital cultural parks, well-known cultural brands, the county's own emerging cultural programs, products or services, preservation of heritage sites, and culture industry research. There also need to be clear penalties for the improper of illegal use of the funds.
