Datong volunteers get national recognition

The city of Datong, Shanxi province, took some silver awards for its projects, at a national youth volunteer contest, on Dec 5, International Volunteer Day, as part of a Volunteer Service Conference, in the city of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, Datong Evening News has reported.
Datong's three silver medals went to a teaching project in mountainous areas handled by postgrads, and two projects for aiding the disabled and caring for senior citizens, both handled by Datong University's the Youth Volunteer Association.
The contest's organizers are the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and China Volunteer Service Federation.
