A delegation from the Shanxi People's Congress officials visited Mount Wutai from Aug 4 to 5, to investigate the religious law enforcement and tourism there, according to wts.sxgov.cn website.

The three officials-- Zhao Jianping, Wang Shangyi, and Li Hong—were accompanied by Zhang Zhizhe, deputy director of Xinzhou Municipal People's Congress. Liu Jiankun, director of Mount Wutai Administration Committee, briefed visitor on recent religion and tourism work in the scenic spot.

The delegation later visited Pushou Temple, Xiantong Temple and Luohou Temple and met representatives from the Buddhist community of Mount Wutai, who made suggestions and comments.

Wang Shangyi praised the religious work in Mount Wutai and encouraged the area to transform its tourism industry.
