Chengdu opens cork on 86th food, wine & spirits fair

The 86th national Food, Wine & Spirits Fair opened in Chengdu on March 23.
The China National Sugar and Alcohol Group Corp along with the municipal government of Chengdu sponsored the event.
It is the largest platform to connect the production and marketing of wine and food industries in the nation.
The event holds an exhibition area of over 100,000 sqm, more than 3,000 enterprises are participating with a transaction volume of nearly 20 billion yuan ($3.18 billion).
Chengdu hosted the fair on account of its leading role in the regional economy in central and western China. The city enjoys a good reputation for holding conventions.
Officials will develop the fair into a more standardized, specialized and global event to serve local industrial and economic developments.
They intend to boost Chengdu as an international city.
