Longxing Ancient Town

The Longxing Ancient Town, located in the southeast of Yubei District, Chongqing Municipality, about 36 kilometers from the city center, is one of the 100 wealthiest towns in Chongqing and is known for its historical and cultural heritage as well as its landscape – and fresh air.
Longxing, governing 2 communities and 21 administrative villages, all with traditional customs, is becoming increasingly known as a tourist destination.
The town boasts many restaurants, hotels, markets and a convenient public transport system, and also a public square, modern office buildings, and commercial pedestrian streets, as well as Longhu Water Park and ecological garden. Longxing combines both modernity and tradition, with traditional homes, ancestral halls, temples and also ancient streets, which offer visitors opportunities to increase their understanding of Chinese culture. In addition, Longxing dried tofu and preserved meat are all originated from this ancient town.
The town has been prosperous since ancient times, and it is also known as the birthplace of over 200 famous people who have made contributions to Chinese history.
