HANOI -- The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training said it will no longer organize university entrance exams from 2010, local newspaper Youth reported Thursday.

Universities and colleges nationwide will base on results of graduation exams of high-school students to admit learners. The ministry will, in the 2008-2009 school year, issue a frame policy on student enrolments at universities and colleges.

Vietnam currently has 206 universities and colleges with a total of over 1.6 million students, or 188 students per 10,000 people, according to the ministry's latest statistics.
