BANGKOK - The Chinese embassy in Thailand on Sunday issued the second travel advisory in a week on Sunday to urge Chinese citizens to keep away from protest sites.

In a statement posted on the embassy's website, Chinese citizens who are now in Thailand or plan to leave for the country are urged to closely monitor the local situation, avoid protest sites and try not to go out at night.

They are also urged not to wear red or yellow clothes to avoid trouble.

In case of danger, Chinese citizens may contact the embassy for help, the statement said.

Anti-government rally in Thailand has been escalating over the last week, with protesters storming into government buildings, TV stations, telecoms firms and even army headquarters.

Violence erupted in Bangkok Saturday night between supporters and opponents of the government, leaving at least two dead and dozens injured.

On Sunday, which protesters have claimed to be the day of victory, protesters have vowed to occupy key state offices, including Government House, to completely paralyze the government.
