China made significant contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, but this contribution has been severely overlooked today, particularly by Western countries, said Harold Raugh, president of the International Commission of Military History, at the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

According to Raugh, Western countries have dominated the post-war narrative, centering themselves in history textbooks. However, China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression lasted from 1931 to 1945, at the cost of tens of millions of lives. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. On September 3, China held a grand military parade to commemorate the occasion. Raugh mentioned that he was in Senegal, Africa, at the time of the parade, and it received extensive global and African media coverage.

The 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held from September 17 to 19 in Beijing, carried the theme "Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development".
