Book published to highlight Chinese scientists' role in World Anti-Fascist War

BEIJING -- A new book, titled "Science and Scientists in the Anti-Fascist War," was recently released in China, providing a comprehensive account of the role that Chinese scientists and researchers played in the arduous fight against fascism.
Yang Jian, a Tsinghua University professor and the book's editor-in-chief, told Xinhua that the work was authored collaboratively by several science and technology historians in China, with the aim to promote the spirit forged in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
The book recounts stories of Chinese and Allied scientists who worked side by side, showcasing the resilience and innovation of these scientific figures during wartime, said Yang.
Despite China's limited sci-tech foundations during the war, Chinese scientists leveraged their ingenuity and creativity to achieve multiple breakthroughs in weapons development, agriculture, and medicine and health, providing important support for both front-line and rear areas, according to the book.
