Nanjing launches 10th Chinese Parasol Tree Award

The Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association launched the selection process for the 10th Chinese Parasol Tree Award on Oct 16.
This year's awards will focus on honoring institutions, organizations, and individuals who have organized activities marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
It is part of efforts to remember history, draw strength, and further advance public diplomacy, according to Liu Ying, deputy secretary-general of the association.
The 2025 awards will include four categories: Public Communication Award, Historical Research Award, Cultural Exchange Award, and Outstanding Organization Award.
The nomination and submission period runs from Oct 18 to Nov 17, followed by a preliminary review from Nov 17 to 23. Public voting will take place from Nov 26 to Dec 1, and expert evaluation from Dec 2 to 6.
Eligible applicants include Nanjing-based museums, universities, enterprises, social organizations, individuals, and overseas Chinese groups that have organized commemorative activities this year. Application materials should be submitted via email to NPDA201210@163.com before Nov 17.
The results will be announced at the 2025 annual meeting of the Nanjing Public Diplomacy Association, where certificates and trophies will be presented to winners.
Established in 2014, the Chinese Parasol Tree Award has since become highly influential both in China and among overseas Chinese communities.
